Situated 2 miles North, on the outskirts of Bath, Pointing's Saddlery is renowned in the South West for quality and expertise. Peter Lewis, a member of The Society of Master Saddlers has been fitting saddles in excess of 25 years. He will travel a 50 mile radius, in order to fit a new saddle or refit your existing saddle, to ensure both horse and rider comfort.

When saddle fitting to a new horse, details are taken to enable Peter to bring a good selection to where your horse is kept. Some of the saddles that are kept in stock are Albion, Ideal, Frank Baines, Pathfinder and Jefferies to name but a few.

 
The age, height of horse and type of saddle required are taken as well as a price range. Peter will also bring quality used saddles, but obviously second-hand saddles are subject to what Peter has in stock. Good quality second-hand saddles will also be considered for part exchange.

As well as checking your existing saddle, Peter is only too happy to give advice to his customers. After all, saddles are like human shoes and can wear out, or can cause blisters; this too must be remembered with your horse's saddle. It is therefore important to have your saddle checked regularly.
 
Another alternative is the Flair System (an air system, that replaces the flocking in your saddle) which Peter can advise you on the fitting of to your existing saddle or be fitted to a brand new saddle. It has been proven to be very comfortable for both horse and rider.

The shop, which is located in the old Blathwayt stable buildings, bring back fond memories to many of our long established customers.

We also offer, a rug cleaning service where your rug is cleaned repaired if necessary and re-proofed; as well as your clippers and blades can be serviced and reground, ready for when you next need them.
